Ice to Relieve Mosquito Bite Swelling

Mosquito bites become inflamed. You can use ice to help reduce this inflammation. Cold temperatures help to reduce inflammation. You will not want to place the ice directly on the mosquito bite. We recommend using an ice pack or a washcloth between your skin and the ice so that your skin does not get too cold. Leave the ice on your mosquito bite for 10-15 minutes at a time.

Oatmeal to Stop Mosquito Bites from Itching

It may sound odd that your favorite breakfast food can help you deal with your annoying mosquito bites. Oatmeal contains special compounds that have anti-irritant qualities. Applying an oatmeal paste to your bites can help reduce the itching and the swelling. You make an oatmeal paste by mixing equal parts of oatmeal and water into a bowl. Put the paste on your bites and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then wipe the area clean. If you have lots of bites you may want to take an oatmeal bath instead of using the oatmeal paste. Take one cup of oatmeal and put it into a bathtub full of warm water. Soak in the bathtub for 20 minutes.
